Warm Your Pot For Your Tea

It is always a good idea to warm your pot so that the water you just boiled holds at the proper temperature during the steeping time. Warming a bone china pot also helps to decrease crazing (small hairline cracks in the glaze).

Crazing happens when there is a high contrast in the temperature of the pot and the liquid being poured into it. You might also consider warming your tea cup or pouring a bit of milk into it prior to pouring in your tea, especially if you are drinking black tea, doing so will help preserve your family heirlooms for years to come.
